Rigi, Queen of Mountains

This private full-day tour takes you to the heart of Switzerland, to Lucerne. The excursion starts there with a leisurely boat trip across the beautiful Lake Lucerne. From Vitznau, the venerable Rigi Railway, built in 1871 as Europe's first mountain railway, takes us up to the Queen of Mountains. Another short ascent and we have reached our main destination, the summit of Rigi Kulm. Did you know that from this vantage point you not only have a fantastic view from the Alps to the Black Forest in Germany, but can also see 13 lakes?

It's worth spending a few minutes at the summit and enjoying the majestic 360° panoramic view. At the Rigi Kulm restaurant, we enjoy a delicious lunch on the large panoramic terrace and then take a leisurely 60-minute walk along the flower path via Staffelhöhe to the famous Känzeli viewpoint and on down to Rigi Kaltbad.  Time flies on the Queen of Mountains. From Rigi Kaltbad, the aerial cableway takes us to Weggis, from where the boat takes us back to Lucerne. A visit to the Lion Monument or a leisurely stroll across the medieval Chapel Bridge into the Old Town rounds off this eventful day.
